This was going to be a very tough race, but none of us realised quite how tough!!
Just in case you do not know the basics of this race, it is a 7 stage/day, 200km race through part of the Amazon Jungle. Runners have to carry 7 days of food, water between check points (CP), first aid kit, hammock, spare clothes etc. The race organisers do provide us with water and a route plan but otherwise it is up to the runners to get through on their own.
There are many multi-day events like this but maybe none as hard!!
