Eventually we got to our final airport with no further hitches.

Sao Paulo airport

Being late, we had just under an hour to get onto our flight to Manaus.  Getting our luggage was a little slow for some and even slower for others.  One of the competitors (Steve Howard) and two of the support crew were in Sao Paulo but TAM had left their luggage in London - not a good start.

And we all buggered off and left Steve to fend for himself.  A sign of 'things to come'.  Not surprisingly Steve was not a happy man and to make matters worse could not get hold of anyone.

Leaving home

I left my house at just after midday on the Wednesday afternoon - little did I know it was going to take just over 2 days to get there!

We should have known when the queue to get on the plane took forever, it was 10% over sold and left late.  11 hours of flight already late - welcome to Brazilian time!
