Sodexo UK Careersite gets SEO and social media upgrade
The US recruitment team of Sodexo have been doing great things with social media but, we have just implemented our own version of Jobs2Web for Sodexo in the UK as well as some initial steps into social media for recruiting.
So what is it and why does it matter? First of all, we are using the same technical platform for part of the Sodexo career site that we use for the entire Tesco Career site. For Tesco we have achieved the following:
- 80% of jobs indexed by Google - previously 0%.
- Over 50% of traffic now from Google - previously <25%.
- Site has 25% more page impressions than last year - people staying longer, doing more.
- The site is fast to index by Google - faster than 95% of all other sites indexed!
Ulitmately, the above kind of improvements reduce the cost of traffic and allow an employer to focus on the right channels at the right price. So Sodexo has only just gone live but already we are seeing jobs being indexed by Google. We have also added:
- Radial job search.
- RSS feeds.
- Direct job feed to Twitter.
- Direct job feeds to Indeed, Simply Hired and Workhound.
- Google Analytics for better tracking etc.
You can see the RSS and Twitter page here for Sodexo. Within the Admin area of the Site we have a Twitter Dashboard so any posts, replies etc can be managed from here if Twitter (for example) is blocked.
The site is integrated with Jobpartners for Sodexo although Tesco use Taleo, WCN and Bond Talent all of which sync with the career site platform. Mothercare also use the same platform which is integrated with Vurv at the moment.
Sodexo is still very early days and there are many other modules that we will be adding over time such as referrals, job alerts via e-mail, RSS, Twitter and SMS, mobile site, iPhone App and a lot more besides. Ultimately, the objective is to help Sodexo attract and hire the right people, from the right channels, at the right cost. Tracking is key to everything we do so we will extend the tracking capabilities to allow us to track source-to-hire so that we know the value of every channel. From job boards to Facebook, we will know what piece delivers what value.
