Social Recruiting Workshop Update 4: The results are in! #SRWS
Of course the way any of us measure the event may differ but my original aim was to try and bring together a group of like minded people to try and get some momentum going with social recruiting. Based on the 60 odd delegates that made it, and looking at the feedback and number of enquiries for social recruiting services, more momentum has (potentially, hopefully) been achieved. Of course the follow-up is key as talk is cheap and taking action is not (really) free which is where the real challenge lies. - getting delegates to put some money into a social recruiting strategy.
I brought together many industry contacts to work together to deliver a consistent message and approach to the delegates, many of which I have met via social media and are listed below:
- @billboorman.
- Alan Whitford.
- Andy Headworth.
- James Mayes.
- Alex Hens.
- Paul Vernon.
- Mark Williams.
- Lisa Scales.
- Adrian McDonagh.
- Claire Dalton.
- Stephanie Braham.
- Matt Jessop.
- Matt Alder.
- Keith Robinson.
- Dave Martin.
- Mike Prenton.
- Simon Lewis.
- Sara Headworth.
- Gary Green - Jobsite.co.uk.
- Nigel Wyman - Jobsite.co.uk.
- Giles Hodson - Mr Ted.
- Tim Jones - Mr Ted.
The WIFI at the British Library was poor at best. This of course did have an impact on the day but luckily did not entirely destroy it - but could have done! Big lesson to anyone planning on having real time interactive workshops.
So what next? Hopefully some delegates will implement some of the ideas and some will attend some of the more hands on workshops around Linkedin and Twitter, or have their Facebook Page spruced up and put some advertising behind it, or maybe even engage some of the consultants to advise on their social strategy. Ultimately, more case studies are needed. Less talk, more do which I hope will happen partly due to last week. There will of course be plenty of follow-up with delegates to get as much implemented as possible. There will also be another one of these bigger workshops in September in London and Manchester to keep the momentum going in the right direction so if you are interested in joining us in September please register your interest at www.hirestrategies.co.uk/socialrecruiting. It will be a slightly smaller group and will NOT be free but it will be better based on what we learned from last week.
In the meantime, happy recruiting and thank you to everyone who attended and helped out on the day. I think it is fair to say that without social media we could not have done this event in the way we did. Is that an ROI for social media? Almost maybe :) Of course your comments are welcome here or via Twitter - use the #SRWS to see some of the discussion/feedback #SRWS
In the meantime, look out for the video of the day with a few surprise out-takes and interview questions to add to the fun.
