Social recruiting: How not to #twinterview

19-job-interview

You know you are losing it when this sounds like you.

  • You introduce yourself with "Hello I'm @mary263, what's your twitter name?"
  • You ask them to name their top 3 favourite #hashtags.
  • You ask them to explain their biggest #failure and if it was a trending topic.
  • You write #loser in your notes when the only LION's local watering hole they have been to was on a safari holiday.
  • When you ask them to name their favourite Rockstar you expect names like Chris Brogan, Seth Godin, and Guy Kawasaki?
  • You are confused why they wanted to be a policeman, nurse, or professional footballer when they could have dreamed about being a social media guru, boolean search string blackbelt master or professional blogger.
  • You ask how they get their daily news read expecting Techcrunch or Mashable.
  • You ask them if they've been on YouTube or met any famous people who've been on YouTube.
  • You Grader their application based on Friends and Followers, reach, resonance and relevance.
  • You say goodbye with "Nice to have followed you, I won't be subscribing to your feed!"
  • You update your recruitment system with skill codes like #moron #reject #noway.

But don't worry if this sounds like you; you're not alone and you even have your very own video.

I'm sure there are more questions so please do submit the ones you know of but of course would never dream of using.
