German Engineering | Italian Finesse

Drivers of Maserati's are reminded to have an additional sole added to their shoes ready for when their car breaks down and they need to walk to the nearest garage.  Ferrari's have electronic switches for the fuel cap, bonnet etc but ALSO a manual cable option for when it doesn't work.

911

Porsche don't bother which such back-up as their engineering is 100% reliable.  Not so.  If you get a flat battery on a 911 you need a spare battery to connect to the fuse panel and door catch to create a positive charge to the switch in order to open the bonnet so you can get to the battery to change or charge it. Or breakdown cover.

They may not break down very often but what a pain when they do!

What back-up do you have if your ATS or career site are not available?  No matter how great you think it is, it will always break down at the worst time.
