Should you integrate with Facebook?

Of course it depends on what you are integrating it with so 'where and where not' is the real question.

The key areas where I am thinking are purely from a Talent Management stand point so includes:

  • Career sites.
  • Blogs - internal and external.
  • Corporate social networks - internal.

Facebook has a somewhat tarnished reputation as far as employers are concerned so no doubt in the majority of cases they'll probably run a mile.  But, there are of course times when it would help.

Integrating some of the job application process does make sense but I would think more about advertising jobs within their FB profile page and then maybe, carry across minimal personal details such as e-mail address and name.  Anything else would probably not be of any value unless FB starts to allow people to add a CV document or similar.

Some of the social network companies are also starting to add FB integration but would an employee really want any of their FB connections with an internal corporate profile?  Would they want to add a blog post showing their FB credentials?

So, I'm not saying don't just would you and if so what and how?  It's more of an open question than a strong opinion so looking for any other suggestions/thoughts.
