Employer Internal Social Networks

We launched our first Employer Internal Social Network this week; soft launch only to a limited number of people but so far so good!  I can't share yet who the employer is, but they are a retailer and the network aims to engage people across the business to improve business performance as a result of better employee engagement and ideas.

But what are some of the interesting points so far?

  • The initial response to join has been good.
  • It has been seen as a positive step by the company.
  • Members initially connect and join groups rather than add blog posts.
  • With little direction members have started to create their own ideas and groups.
  • IT are as wacky as ever!

There is a Community Manager (not F/T) who will be taking the site forward and rolling it out further over the next few weeks and encouraging members to add content etc in readiness for the full roll out.  It is of course still very early days but kudos to the HR Director who has driven this; a big cultural change and a fantastic way of demonstrating their values.

I will of course update over the coming months.
