Vurv SAP acquisition | How to know the truth

Looks like this rumour is going to continue smoking over the weekend but, there are a few tell tale signs to know if you are turning into a SAPien or in this case a VurvSAPien (sounds like a disease!).

IF you know any of the senior product team in the US, try calling their mobile phone.  IF it goes to some kind of German answering service then bingo, you got one.  You can also try the same approach for a number of other senior people as an alternative.

Another possibility is that their message no longer says: "Thanks for reaching out to Fred Jones at Vurv; I'm busy working with clients but ......" and may of course be non-Vurvified now?

Give me a break... do you really have nothing better to do than make stuff up? Get a job :)

Hey Pablo, we'll see in the next few days! Don't shoot the messenger....

Sorry to hear about Kelton. Let's hope he does not suffer.

In law, defamation (also called vilification, slander, and libel) is the communication of a statement that makes a false claim, expressively stated or implied to be factual, that may harm the reputation of an individual, business, product, group, government or nation. Slander refers to spoken comments, while libel refers to any other form of communication such as written words or images. Most jurisdictions allow legal actions, civil and/or criminal, to deter various kinds of defamation and retaliate against groundless criticism. Related to defamation is public disclosure of private facts which arises where one person reveals information which is not of public concern, and the release of which would offend a reasonable person. "Unlike libel or slander, truth is not a defense for invasion of privacy."

Well, well Non Person - maybe you know some facts? I have no idea.

Thanks for checking out my website and for the kind words on Kelton. They will mean a lot to him!

As for the original topic... I am not shooting the messenger... my main concern is that you are making comments without any facts (and they are rumors.. nothing else) so take a moment and think about all those people you are affecting. (Vurv, clients, etc)...

That is all I am saying.. I mean seriously though; unless you got facts (which there arent any; because it's not happening) why post someting like that? It would be like me posting something on a message board saying that Hire Strategies LTD is being acquired or that it's going out of business hurry up and take your business elsewhere... since I Have no proof... is it really my place to post it? Heck, even if I did have proof is it my place? No... because it's none of my business...

And sure I can get the "its the public right to know" spill.. but even then; c'mon now; lets be serious.

Step for a second and think; comments without proof or supporting evidence is kinda wrong; isnt it? Wrog towards the company, towards it's clients and towards it's employees. No matter what company or individual they are said against.

Now I am not the CEO.. I am not CTO, the CIO or COO or whatever of the mentioned company (Vurv)... but there is nothing showing that this is gonna happen. Not in the least... and if it does for some strange reason... what does pulling the lever accomplish? Other then hurting the people in the company who will be sitting there will of questions and concerns? Worried about their everyday lives; their bills; their new-born babies, etc?

Mergers tend to never be pretty (as we all know) so if it's true (which I dont think it is) dont they have enough to worry about? Without the fear of it happenning without it happenning?

So yeah; give me a break... Rumors are like gossip... nothing good ever comes from them; ever.

I am a ColdFusion developer; and there is a well known rumor in that field that ColdFusion is dying... If i had a nickel for everytime I heard it; I would have more money then Bill Gates and Warren Buffet combined... Yeah that many times!

So quit being papparazi and taking pictures and saying tablod things... if nothing else for the people that are at Vurv who work hard everyday to provide the best service they can give the company they love and more importantly their clients.

P.

If there is no truth to this, maybe we should ask Vurv why there will no longer be clients on site next week. Hmmmm ...

Pablo

I get a lot of comments about many vendors (inc Vurv) and most often file them away as they don't serve much purpose. I've even selected Vurv for clients irrespective of accusations etc so I'm not antiVurv either way. The initial post on the issue of Vurv/SAP was in line with previous market discussions I had published about how the market could move around mergers etc. I would not have expected too much notice to be paid towards the initial post but let me tell you; my stats exploded through the roof on this one particular issue.

So, I can ignore it or question it some more. Is it for me to comment? Maybe, maybe not. But IF it is true and people's lives are going to be affected, shouldn't it already have been communicated to those employees? Any questions or concerns they may have won't be as a result of my post; I'm hardly Techcrunch with a massive sway on the industry!

You do however have valid points and I respect those and yes, mergers/acquisitions are always tough but that is down to those companies to make it as smooth and painless as possible. OK, so my post may not have helped but maybe it has; maybe we'll never know.

I hope CF isn't dying, we've been using it since 1998!

Peter
