How to use Twitter to broadcast jobs
With all the interest in Twitter at the moment, which includes a possible valuation of up to $150 million as discussed on Techcrunch, it is only a matter of time until the SPAM gets ever greater followed by job alerts.
So how could Twitter be used for jobs but more importantly why?
One of the great things about Twitter is that it is so immediate. Anyone with some kind of sidebar (e.g. Twitbin) or SMS alerts switched ON, will get immediate notification of such alerts. One of the other great parts about Twitter is that it is quite easy to start finding people who could meet your target audience by using the various search options.
One example is Journalism.co.uk who have a Twitter profile which you could follow if you wanted to get alerts about journalism jobs. If for example we had a list of jobs in Talent Management, the Twitter search brings up a small list of relevant people, even more for HR. We could then 'follow' these people who are then quite likely to follow us. Either way, it may be quite early to start the job alerts concept but at least one job board has started, it is only a matter of time before the big boys get on board.
