Customer service - NOT!
I did a quick shop online yesterday and other than a number of bugs/errors on the site I managed to complete my shop; payment confirmation received. Now just a matter of Royal Mail NOT leaving my parcel and me having to go and collect it and some totally inconvenient time.
And that I thought that was the end of that.
But no, around 11pm last night I get an e-mail:
"Due to a recent high increase in fraudulent activity over the internet, we
require confirmation for your card billing address used to pay for your goods.
This due to the fact your card details do not completely match up to the
billing address provided when ordering.
Please call us on 01923 XXXXXX (option 1) between Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm.
If we do not receive a reply within 7 working days from the date of this email,
then your order will automatically be refunded.
When placing an order in the future you need to change your billing address to
the correct address for the card used to place your order. This can be done by
logging in to your account and clicking on 'Your Account' on the top left of
the webpage, followed by 'Your Details'.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
So, I check my details and they are all correct. I check my Worldpay confirmation e-mail and they are all correct. I send the company an e-mail saying maybe you could call me? You have all my details don't you? You do want my business don't you?
So after a somewhat mellow run in the sun earlier today, and no response (surprised huh) I decide to ring and make sure they do want my money and can be bothered to send my order.
And the phone just rings out until it cuts off. Who needs a recession to put companies out of business when they can do it themselves?
