Recruiting on Facebook
Louise Triance over at UK Recruiter had an interesting post today How a corporate recruiters uses Facebook courtesy of an interview she had with Emma Mirrington of Sky.
But is Facebook really the place to conduct 'Onboarding and Offboarding?'
Facebook, Bebo, Myspace etc all have their place. I am taking on a part-time marketer and she of course has a Facebook profile and is on it everyday. So I asked her view (Gen Y) on Facebook for work; she tries to get OFF Facebook when at work as there are too many distractions.
The future for organisations is to make sure they either hook into business networks such as Talent Management Network or, create their own social network for both new and existing employees.
There is a place for both of course. We are building an internal network at the moment and subject to the client allowing us to blog about it, we will in the next few weeks! We think it will work primarily as you have a captive audience to communicate to; not all will play but many will.
And I would say it will be some of the best people that will get involved; so how about that for a great way of spotting great internal talent!
