Jobs at Sainsburys
I am easily confused as is the average job seeker these days, but is online recruitment at Sainsbury's going from the ugly to the very ugly?
Don't take this the wrong way Sainsbury's; I think you have great food but your employer brand is not that fantastic so why make such a mess of online? And you can only blame your predecessors for so long!
So, we recently had the Sainsbury's bunch campaign which reminded me of the Spitting Images (no doubt soon to be repeated in Headcases) where the waiter asked Maggie 'What about the vegetables (i.e. do you want some) and she replied 'Yes, they'll have the same (referring to the cabinet as veg!). So does this imply that their Store Managers are a bunch of bananas or plain old monkeys? I think not!
Then, we have the beautiful search process courtesy of Changeworknow. Maybe the headline is talking about it taking about half an hour to find a job search link!!
This is 2 screenshots to help display it here on my blog.
And then, we have the best yet. Oracle iRecruitment; maybe the ugliest front end of a career site developed so far this millennium? But if you know of anything any uglier do please let me know.
I'm sure Sainsbury's will tell me that I am wrong, some of these sites are not live and I should update my post. Well, I'm no technical wizard and found them all on the web. Check the links below and at the same time checkout the rest of the ugly gang!!

All good spots - but to top off the overall execution of the management campaign microsite off, have you clicked on the home page image? I did as a sudo mistake - Do so and it takes you to the registration page - thing is, you wouldn't know from the nav where you'd gone and the heading is "create an account"???!!!
What the hell am I creating an account for? their online bankig? What are you capturing my details for? If you're going to embed a link (especially under an image) make sure that it's a logical step or at least well signposted where you've been transported too!
It is quite mind boggling that such a simple site with so few pages can still be got so fundamentally wrong. but at the same time - I suppose we plying our trade doing our best to actually do this web recruitment thing well should just be grateful, think of all the new business opportunities mediocraty and incompetence such as this offers.

After a few quite and event free weeks, the 'The Assasin' has oiled down his snipers rifle and gone big game hunting!!! Will he succeed or will he be mauled?
