The chubby grocer

Looks like the award for the first grocer to start an external blog goes to Mark Price of Waitrose.

But is his blog as good as his food?  Will he achieve his aim of being not so chubby?  Can we help him with both??

Clearly Mark has a lot to say recently, taking on the mighty Tesco on quite a few occasions as well as ASDA and M&S; and why not?!  Maybe he'll have a go at the others in time as being the 'smaller' grocer all PR is good PR.

So, back to his two goals and can we help:

Become not so chubby.
Write a blog to capture the attention of his customers.

Goal 1 is simple, join me in the Arctic next year, stroll around pulling a sled, across maybe 300 miles of frozen wasteland.  You'll be half the grocer by the time you get back and you'll still be able to eat as much chocolate and steak as you like (which you clearly do!).  If not, then maybe throw on a few bars of chocolate instead......

Goal 2 will take a bit longer

First, get a few more images in amongst the text or

  1. at least a few bullets.
  2. to break it up.

Start linking to other sites/blogs but if you/the person who writes the blog are not sure how to do this then Ask Euan Sutherland how he has managed to get so far with the blogs we helped him get going.  You link out, people will link back in.

But the most important is to NOT assume all your readers will always stay up to date with the site.  Get an RSS and e-mail subscription option to make it easy for people to keep up to date with the blog; this way they are more likely to keep coming back!
