Power of the retail blog

I know paying Bloggers to post on behalf of advertisers is not a new concept but I think it will grow in demand so I started looking into 'products' such as PayPerPost.

I also did a quick test as well and looked at some historical information across my blog posts.

In the last 12 months the highest performing keywords have been:

  • Fat Face.
  • TK Maxx.
  • Asdajobs.
  • Halfords.

Although there were other retailers in the keywords list, the above alone represented 14% of all site visits from keyword searches.

I also did a quick test last week by posting an obvious SEO focused post about the new Tesco Fashion career site.  In the first week, my post was the second highest traffic referrer for % of conversions (applications!).

So I did another check.

For Halfords in the whole of 2007, my blog was 20th best performing traffic referrer and of the 19 sites above mine in the Top 20 my traffic visited more pages, stayed on the site longer and had by far the lowest bounce rate!

Am I onto something here I wonder? Joel is even more ahead of the game than I realised!
