Monday again.....

Yet another Monday, yet another copy of Personnel Today.  Guru in trouble as usual for being negative towards youfs who wear hoodies and hang around on street corners looking for work, HR off shoring as ever in the early pages and HR commenting on how they need to be more strategic and offer real business benefits.

HR Shared service centres and Indian Call Centres do more than save money though if only HR could 'think outside of the box' rather than being too strategic.

A friend of mine has been planning a backpacking trip to India and wanted to check out the weather for his travels.  Now, when I was travelling we would all have a book called Lonely Planets but the youf of today are a lot more switched on - he rang his bank. Janet was able to tell him all about the weather in Mumbai and the surrounding areas. And he didn't even have to give his name, favourite place, inside leg measurement and mothers maiden name.  Watch out Thomas Cook, the banks are after more than money these days.

Well done HR, multi-disciplined overseas talent.  You see, you are better than you think!
