The biggest, the first, the best - who cares?

Having been involved in many e-recruitment buying projects I get fed up of hearing about suppliers who are the best or biggest, or market leaders etc.  Two reasons:

  1. They all seem to make the same claims yet have no real evidence.
  2. It rarely adds any value so who really cares.

I also get bored with claims of expertise and then see 'experts' do things that either makes them look like a beginner or shows that don't really know that much about the subject matter.

Now, I do not really know the wonderful people at OnlineMediaExperts (there you go, a free link that has some value!) but their claim of being the UK's FIRST advertsing agency specialising exclusively in online recruitment meets both points in my opening paragraph.

The second issue is around one of their founders blog.  Dominic Sumners has his blog here yet often links back to his own site which I presume is to help his natural search ranking.

Dom, you really don't need to do this - not big, clever or of any real value!  I'm sure you are much better than this really.  But hey, I'm not perfect either!
