RSS - the death of eQuest and Broadbean
For the last 8 years or so, eQuest, CastleLinks (now deceased) and now the likes of Broadbean, Jobmate, Posting Pal, plus a number of other companies with ridiculous names, have been offering a multi job-posting service - at a cost of course. Whilst this service has mainly been taken up by agencies in the UK as well as a small number of employers (albeit integrated with their ATS), I have to wonder if this service has a future?
Broadbean have grand ambitions; to be the largest job posting company on the planet. Well, with RSS that may be an easy goal to achieve as there won't be any of them left to be bigger than.
Job boards already offer RSS to job seekers so they can easily offer a similar feed to other sites who want to add jobs to their own site. The vertical job search engines already make it easy to do this. The ATS vendors don't want the hassle of posting to the job boards hence the multi-posters exist, but once they get their heads out of the mire, maybe the ATS vendors will realise they can provide an RSS feed and the job boards can come and get what the employer provides to them.
Simple, fast, free - the death of multi-posting!! The job boards may out live their nemesis!
