To blog or not to blog

There's been quite a few posts on other Blogs about CEO Blogging and if they should or should not.  Jason Goldberg of Jobster loves to Blog, whereas Simply Hired are hiring someone to 'manage their Blog' (hmmmm).

Personally, I think a Blog should be created because the person behind it wants to rather than feels the need to. In my recently published guide, The Retailers Guide to E-recruitment, I cover the Blog as a communication tool that can be used both internally and externally. They are quicker and easier than e-mail or memo's, everyone gets to see the comments, and managing response is instantaneous.

So, Blog because you want to rather than have to, otherwise you and the readers will get bored and it will all come to nothing.
