Talent Supply Network (TSN)

I have termed the recruitment agency as a Talent Supplier.  Most (but not all) agencies hound prospective customers to such an extent that they will not take calls from any new agencies, which in turn will mean that on occasions they miss out on good candidates.  But, HR have a job to do and do not have the time to listen to the sales pitches of agencies all day.

This scenario is however the same for a number of good candidates i.e. due to the volume of unsuitable candidates, HR struggle to get to those of any value and vice versa.  Jobster (yet again - sorry!) feel their proposition/service will help good candidates connect with the recruiter. 

Maybe HR can take a similar approach to their Talent Supply Network, as great recruiters (also) know great people.  So, it could look something like this!

Interested Talent Suppliers are referred to the career site where they can view relevant details for suppliers and opt to join the Talent Supply Network - or maybe they have to be referred in by someone!  Once registered, they can download terms, build a profile around their services, using tags to define the kinds of people they supply and the kind of service levels they work to.  Line Managers can also provide details about the kind of people they need, their department etc , maybe using a Blog type of interface so that Suppliers can interact as necessary.  Once again, the Line Manager can use tags to define the different types of roles in more detail. The Line Manager can then see which suppliers provide the types of people they require and, what kind of service/people match they have.  Using this matching process, the Line Manager can then broadcast jobs only to their chosen Suppliers.  This gives the business greater flexibility, more choice yet controlled terms and Supplier monitoring.

The TSN could also be extended (by Jobster) to be generic rather than customer specific in order to build up a database of Talent Suppliers that customers can also tap into should they need to broadcast a role to Talent Suppliers outside their own network.

There are more TSN ideas I have, many more that Jobster and other people will have.  If you have comments please do add them - I think this idea/approach could help everyone!!
