No conflict
Maybe this is a little too much for some but hey, I am what I am, do what I do!
I have been thinking about the conflict in my service when getting a commission for media buying but also when working with competing retailers. So, I've now decided to implement a 'no conflict' policy that means that if I work for X then I will not work with their direct competitor Y.
This does actually make some sense. If I am trying to maximise the candidate attraction strategy for a health & beauty retailer, then I am going to be doing my absolute best to out recruit some of their key competitors. So if I worked for three retailers, who competed directly, where would that leave me with regards to confidential data, unique creativity etc - rock and a hard place I reckon, and the customer may be somewhat baffled as well.
It's early days, but it gives me greater clarity when prospecting and what looks like a clear USP/differentiator. There are only so many hours in the day, I can only do so much!
